Spring in Fall: I went to Ulta and received zero deals on Black Friday

Spring in Fall (L-R): Palladio Herbal Lip Liner in Plum, Zoya Professional Lacquer in Addison, The Body Shop Face Masks in Seaweed Ionic Clay and Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture, Too Faced La Creme Lip Balm in Just Kissed and tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in Light Neutral

Last week I realized that I was almost out of foundation and decided to go to Ulta. While there were a lot of great in-store deals and packages from different brands on Black Friday, I just wanted my foundation. And a lip balm and lip liner. And a new nail polish. And a couple of face masks once I was standing in line.

When I got home, I was amused to find that all of the colors I picked looked a lot more like spring than fall, which is just fine with me.

Too Faced La Creme Lip Balm in Just Kissed

I have been wearing this lip balm from Too Faced in Just Kissed everyday since I bought it. It lasts quite a long time for me (half a day or so before reapplication) and is definitely moisturizing. I own quite a few tinted balms, in a variety of pigmentation intensities, and find that this is my favorite by far. It’s just sheer enough but the color is still vibrant without coming off like an unpleasantly sticky version of lipstick.

It’s been quite a long time since I’ve regularly included a lipliner in my makeup routine. I’ve been pairing the Palladio lipliner in Plum with Too Faced’s Just Kissed lip balm and love the definition it gives my lips. The pigmentation is great and buildable, and the you can easily blend this into your lip color if needed. Also, a lot of lipliners make me break out on my lip line but I haven’t had that problem at all with Palladio.

I had to pick another Zoya nail color after falling in love with the brand last month. Addison looked like the perfect pink to me in the bottle; after application I realized that it has a bit of a metallic sheen to it that I’m not sure I completely love. However, the application was incredibly easy and so far it seems as chip proof as Madeline, which is great.

And, of course, I picked up my foundation. You can read my review of tarte’s Amazonian Clay Foundation here.

I haven’t tried the face masks out yet but may give them a quick review once I do. With the holiday season bearing down on me, I will likely need both very soon as I try to cope with all of the festive madness.
