Glass Tea Carafe from World Market

Arabesque Glass Tea Carafe from World Market, $9.99

This carafe caught my attention from the bottom shelf of the tea accessories area at World Market. Aside from being a gorgeous carafe, I am always looking for an alternative to my ceramic tea strainer (infuser?), as it stains super easy and then I feel like I have to hide it. Also, I have this paranoia that I’ll break it because it’s so thin.

Glass is always my material of choice for storing liquids, so I am naturally prone to be incredibly happy with this carafe. The strainer doesn’t sit as flush as I would like but the carafe is attractive enough that I don’t care. Plus, I will likely also use it for water. Since it’s insulated, it won’t matter if the liquid I keep in it is hot or cold, which I appreciate. Another plus is being able to throw it into the dishwasher without worry; I definitely don’t need more hand-wash only items in my kitchen.

My only real complaint is that it isn’t bigger; I’d love if it came in multiple sizes. Otherwise, I’m pleased with most anything that makes my loose tea habit easier.

Yum!

I recently bought the flora printed one from world market as well. I love how its cool to the touch but it’s contents stay nice and hot! The art work on the container is very detailed as well and the fact that it’s double glassed is very nice too seeing that the print won’t fade since it’s protected by the outer layer of glass. LOVE 🙂

I love mine. I do, BUT the holes in the strainer are so big! The primary point of this purchase was because my favorite tea is only sold loose. Now I’m lady tea teeth in my office! Is there a company that makes a mesh filter that fits? I think need a little help.

    • Adie says:

Hi, Jenny! I completely understand. I never did get the hang of using the provided mesh infuser. Instead, I grabbed another infuser to use in the carafes (picture below). Hope this helps. Enjoy your tea and Happy New Year. 🙂
