Review Update: Three Months of M2 Skin Refinish Serum

M2 Skin Refinish, 12 percent.

This post is to update my progress with the M2 Skin Refinish Serum. My tips for usage can be found here, along with my pervious experiences. As I wrote in June, I’d been dealing with some less than fun breakouts as the temperature began to rise. Thus, I was also dealing with the hyperpigmentation such breakouts leave behind. Because it’s not bad enough to have a painful little pimple on your face, is it? No, that pimple usually insists on leaving its mark for a few months at least. The nerve, right? So, I wanted to update those interested in my first review with a follow up, to explain what a few months of using the product has done for my skin.

I’ve been using M2 Skin Refinish Serum (12%) for the last three months and have seen a significant reduction in skin congestion. It has also helped to me to fade some of the hyperpigmentation the breakouts left. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t perform miracles and leave my skin perfect. However, I have seen at least a seventy percent reduction in breakouts and the bright red marks those breakouts left behind have faded, too. The hyperpigmentation isn’t completely gone but it’s getting there. Depending on your skin type, the time it can take to shed that pigmentation varies. And with my skin, it always takes me quite a bit longer than it does for my friends.

Aside from the benefit of controlling skin congestion, the serum also brightened my complexion and seems to help control excess oil (I have combination skin). It has worked much better for me than salicylic acid peels or prescription-strength retinoid creams. I’m nearly out of the product now and will repurchasing it but this time, I will most likely buy the 20% version. If I find any added benefits to the increased strength, I’ll be sure to write a post about it.

Thanks for reading and if you have any experience with M2 Skin Refinish Serum, or any other products, please leave a comment!
